Prevention of Covid-19

·The very best protection is to wash your hands frequently - after going to the toilet, before handling food, after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose. Soap and water is best but hand sanitiser is also ok.

·Avoid touching your face - the virus penetrates via the mucous membranes so keep your hands away from your lips, mouth, nose and eyes.

·Cough or sneeze into a tissue and immediately discard the tissue into a lined bin. If you don't have a tissue then cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow - not into your hands.

·Stay at home if you are not well - do not go to work or go out in public.

·Avoid crowded situations and maintain an extended social distance when you are out and about.

·Eat well and eat regular meals.

·Make sure you get plenty of sleep and don't push yourself to the limit.

·Maintain your regular routines and keep in touch with friends and family.

Be kind to others around you - if a family member, friend or neighbour has to self-isolate then stay in touch and offer to pick things up from the shops for them or cook them a meal. Things can be left on an outside table or at the door for them to collect once you have left. You can't catch Covid-19 through a closed door or window!
