Quit Smoking

Several sessions of acupuncture will help you to quit smoking.

Smoking, which is better described as nicotine addiction, is a complex addiction, with both psychological and physical components.

Stopping smoking is very difficult, as suggested by the old Mark Twain joke, "Quitting smoking is easy. I've done it a thousand times."

Quitting smoking can reduce your risk for several major diseases, including heart disease, stroke and cancer, and it also saves your money.

Acupuncture can ease cravings and reduce irritability, due to the acupuncture therapy induced relaxation. Acupuncture may also promote detoxification as you quit smoking.

"Gradual reduction probably won’t work," says Conway. "Seventy percent of smokers want to quit smoking, not smoke less. Even if you only smoke a few cigarettes a day, you are still not getting the benefits that come when you quit smoking. With nicotine still in your system, as soon as you are under stress, you will probably start smoking more." The dangers from smoking, such as cancer, heart disease, and stroke, don't go away until you quit completely.

After successfully quit smoking, I advise you not smoke again, never.  Because the science research shown  it may increase the risk of cancer.

The reason for some people re-smoke again, most likely is under emotional stress or feel lonely. In this case, please re-book another acupuncture appointment for emotional balance, instead of taking cigarettes which only harm you and make your mood worse.
